This morning at about 1045am Emergency services attended Hatch Farm Way, near the junction with King Street in Winnersh, this morning following a collision involving two vehicles.

Thankfully, all drivers and passengers escaped without injury.

The road leading from King Street across the carriageway is currently blocked, and motorists are advised to seek an alternative route.

The cross roads must have had over 20 crashes over last 2 years. At what point will the council or highways actually look at some change. One day the report will be not just a crash but fatality so some prevention needs to be put in place

Obviously also helps if people read the signs too

Brian McArdle not Council’s fault if drivers too inpatient or stupid to not stop at Red light or obey signs. Instant 6 months ban may help.

Brian McArdle and? …. simple junction, traffic light and lane controlled.

I don’t think it’s impatience or not obeying a red light. I think it’s drivers unfamiliar with the junction setting off and trying to turn right when the lights go green – not realising oncoming traffic just got the green light too.
Should they know better? Yes, but demonstrably they don’t. So I think the junction or the light sequencing could be improved.

I don’t understand why people keep having crashes here? Is it just that people aren’t reading the signs?
    Glad no one was hurt

That junction is so bad , maybe a roundabout would have been better?

Nothing wrong with the junction just bad drivers not obeying the lights and trying to turn against them or turn where they should not be turning.
Hopefully following this bump nobody hurt.

I think there’s room for improvement. See my response to Lynn.

The timing of the lights is wrong. There is too little time between those turning right from lower early getting a red and those going across from winnersh x road getting a green. So many accidents and near accidents there and I know the council have been warned but just ignore!

I’m afraid you can’t prevent accidents if people don’t obey or read road signs.

Mandy Long or can’t read English or understand the signs. Also outdated maps on Sat Navs as people too stupid to keep them updated.

It’s a hot spot for red- light-runners, along with so many busy junctions in the area

    The traffic lights are not
synchronised properly, I tried reporting but no joy

I think the problem is that when the lights go green, drivers unfamiliar with the junction thinks that’s a licence to go even if (say) turning right from Mole Road into Longdon Road. They don’t realise that traffic coming from Sainsbury’s and going straight on in the opposite direction have just got the green light too. On a number of occasions, when travelling SW across this junction I’ve had someone attempt to turn across my path.

Probably the most dangerous junction, in the world! Well done WBC!
