Community Writers help reflect the diversity, energy, and lived experience of Wokingham — and we’re really pleased you’re considering getting involved.
As a Community Writer, you may:
Write articles about local news, events, or issues
Share opinion pieces or personal perspectives
Highlight community groups, charities, or initiatives
Contribute occasionally or regularly — it’s entirely up to you
There is no minimum commitment and no pressure to publish on a schedule.
Before applying, please be aware that:
This is a volunteer role (unpaid)
Your articles will be published on MyWokingham.co.uk
You will have a public author profile showing your name or approved pen name
Articles may be edited for clarity, accuracy, or legal reasons
All content must be original, respectful, and lawful
You can stop contributing at any time
Writers under 18 are welcome
Parental or guardian consent is required for under-18s
