Debs Heffernan has been announced as Twyford Citizen of the Year by the parish council.
Twyford Together Community Awards organisers presented her with a plaque and a gift by Twyford Parish Council’s Vice Chairman John Bowley at the Age Concern Centre.
The councillors agreed that in recognition of serving residents of Twyford and the surrounding areas Debs should indeed join previous recipients of the Twyford Parish Council Citizen of the Year award and wish to offer a huge thank you to all residents who made nominations for this category.
A spokesman said: “For over nine years, Debs has been at the heart of Age Concern Twyford and District, serving as Care Manager and offering support and heartfelt care to their members. Her passion for improving the lives of the elderly shines through in everything she does, and her efforts have transformed the lives of so many in Twyford and the surrounding areas.
“Debs is not just a care manager – she is a source of inspiration to everyone who walks through the doors of Age Concern. Her warm and empathetic nature makes everyone feel instantly at ease, creating a safe and welcoming space where both members and staff alike feel supported and valued. She has the ability to listen, understand, and to offer words of comfort or encouragement when they are needed most.
“Beyond her professional expertise, it is Debs’s personal touch that truly sets her apart. Whether it’s a smile, a kind word, or simply being there for someone in need, she has an extraordinary ability to brighten any room and uplift those around her. Her dedication to enhancing the well-being of each individual she meets has earned her the admiration and gratitude of the entire community.”
