Members of Emmbrook and Bearwood Cricket Club will take on the Wokingham Half Marathon on 22 February 2026 to raise funds for the Wokingham-based food-sharing charity SHARE.

Will Wells, Dan Mead, and Tom and Colin Alborough are running the event in support of SHARE, a registered charity (number 1195620) that operates 15 sites across Wokingham and the surrounding areas. The charity provides free food to anyone who needs it, with no referral required.

Each week, SHARE supports more than 2,000 people across the local community by redistributing approximately 40 tonnes of surplus food from supermarkets and food suppliers that would otherwise go to waste. The charity’s open-access model ensures that support is available to all, helping to reduce food insecurity while tackling food waste.

United through their cricket club, Emmbrook and Bearwood CC, the runners proudly wear the SHARE logo on their playing shirts as part of the club’s ongoing support for the charity and its work within the local community.

Speaking ahead of the event, the runners said they were proud to be supporting a charity that operates with kindness and inclusivity at its core, particularly at a time when many families are facing increased financial pressure.

All funds raised through the half marathon will go directly to supporting SHARE’s work. The runners are currently in training and welcome support from the local community on race day.

Wokingham’s 20 mph Proposal: Safety Priority or Misguided Policy?

All Sports Wokingham

All Sports Wokingham was founded by local photographer and publisher Paul King, who brings more than 40 years’ experience in local news, publishing and photography. Recognising a clear gap in the market for an independent sports publication dedicated solely to local and community sport, Paul set out to create a platform that would celebrate athletes, teams and clubs across Wokingham Borough and the surrounding areas. The All Sports Wokingham website launched in October 2024, providing regular online coverage of local sport. Building on its early success, the publication expanded into print, with the first magazine print run taking place in April 2025. The high-quality, photo-led magazine was warmly received and has continued to grow in popularity since its launch. Today, All Sports Wokingham showcases a wide range of sports, telling the stories of local clubs and competitors while supporting grassroots sport and the wider community.
