Premium Bonds savers across the UK have started 2026 in style after National Savings & Investments (NS&I) announced the January 2026 Premium Bonds prize draw results, including life-changing six-figure wins — with some lucky savers scooping £100,000 prizes from holdings below £5,000.

January’s Biggest Winners

Among January’s major wins were:

  • Two £1 million jackpot winners
  • Multiple £100,000 winners — including savers with relatively small holdings

Two savers hit the £100,000 prize with holdings below £5,000 — a reminder that every £1 bond has the same chance of winning, regardless of how much you hold.

Across the country, thousands more savers collected tax-free prizes ranging from £25 to £50,000.

Berkshire & Wokingham Connections

Berkshire once again featured among the prize-winning regions — great news for Premium Bonds holders locally. With thousands of residents across Wokingham and the wider Berkshire area holding Premium Bonds, many will now be keen to check whether they’ve started 2026 with a win.

Premium Bonds — How They Work

Premium Bonds are a savings product backed by the UK Government through NS&I. Instead of earning interest, each £1 bond is entered into a monthly prize draw. Prizes are tax-free and range from:

  • £25
  • £50, £100, £500, £1,000
  • £5,000 to £100,000
  • Two £1 million jackpots every month

Savers can hold between £25 and £50,000 worth of bonds.

Check If You’ve Won a Prize

If you hold Premium Bonds, it’s quick and simple to see whether you’ve won in the latest draw — or whether you have unclaimed prizes from previous months.

What You’ll Need

To check, you’ll usually need:

Results update monthly following the prize draw.

Final Thought

With millions of prizes paid out every year, Premium Bonds continue to be the UK’s most popular savings product — and January 2026 has already delivered life-changing wins, including for savers with modest balances.

If you live in Wokingham or the wider Berkshire area, it could be worth checking — your Premium Bonds may already be hiding a tax-free surprise.
