What Is Neighbourhood Policing in Wokingham?
Every neighbourhood in the Thames Valley area has a dedicated neighbourhood policing team working closely with the local community and partner organisations. Their focus is to:
- Reduce crime and incidents
- Bring more offenders to justice
- Protect vulnerable people
- Tackle violence against women and girls
- Improve victim services and public confidence
Neighbourhood policing teams are led by senior police officers and include police officers, Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs), police staff, police support volunteers, and members of the Special Constabulary. Together, they aim to make communities safer through an approach centred on visibility, engagement, problem-solving and community resilience.
Residents across Wokingham are encouraged to stay informed and connected with local policing activity. You can receive regular updates about incidents, appeals and safety information in your area by signing up to Thames Valley Alert.
