Art materials manufacturer Daler-Rowney has issued a statement following the major fire that broke out at its Bracknell headquarters on Peacock Lane on Monday, 25 May.
The company confirmed that a significant fire occurred at its manufacturing facility and headquarters, prompting a major emergency response and the evacuation of nearby residents as a precaution. Emergency services advised people living nearby to keep windows and doors closed due to concerns over smoke from the blaze. (Bracknell Forest Council)
Residents across Bracknell, Wokingham and surrounding areas watched as a huge plume of smoke filled the sky following as the major fire took hold.
Bracknell Forest Council said emergency services would remain on site until Wednesday or Thursday.
In a statement, it said: “Residents can now return home as the fire is under control and there is no longer a risk from the smoke.
“Some soot may have settled in the surrounding area following the incident. We want to reassure residents that we have taken scientific advice and this soot is not harmful.”
It said police had forced entry to some properties where there was no response from occupants.
