My Wokingham is participating in the United Nations Framework for Climate Change by working to protect the rainforest

Wokingham, UK – Businesses around Berkshire have a new incentive to make purchases from My Wokingham (MyWokingham.co.uk). Businesses will have a direct impact on the world’s environment by working with the Community News and Business Platform. Each purchase from My Wokingham will automatically save trees in the rainforest.

Community News and Business Platform has teamed up with One Tribe to protect the rainforest and lower the carbon footprint created by businesses around Berkshire. Local businesses can save five trees for each month they pay for a business page subscription with the My Wokingham Business Directory.

“We were seeking a good way to reduce our own carbon footprint and found that working with One Tribe gave us the opportunity to offer local businesses the same opportunity,” Nick Marr, founder, said. “We look to offer Wokingham businesses a new way to be more sustainable simply by adding a listing with us.”

My Wokingham is participating in the United Nations Framework for Climate Change. The organisation has adopted the UN Sustainability Goals. The program helps fight the climate crisis by reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The One Tribe platform connects businesses and My Wokingham to various rainforest protection projects.

One Tribe tracks the climate change impact in real-time giving customers the chance to see how they are improving the issue. My Wokingham will make a donation on the behalf of each customer for every purchase made. One Tribe will certify all donations and will transfer the funds to the climate change conservation partners.

The One Tribe platform connects My Wokingham directly to rainforest protection charities. Each sale will help protect rainforests, indigenous tribes, and biodiversity around the globe. The charities One Tribe works with will then provide funds to projects on the ground to protect important rainforest land and reduce carbon dioxide. See One Tribe Projects here

“Each business’s purchase funds rainforest protection projects that store carbon from being released into the atmosphere,” Marr explained. “By enabling customers to protect the rainforests when they shop with us, we also empower consumers to drive positive change.”
