South Berkshire was back in action Thursday night at Reading hockey club with their Summer League fixture against Newbury. Right from the kickoff, Berkshire totally dominated the play with some outstanding movement and pinpoint passing. Only after two minutes, Sam Fox-Harvey blazed over the bar from just in front of the goal.

It still took until the 15th minute for the Newbury defence to be breached, with Sam Coombes converting a Fox-Harvey cross.
Six Minutes later Coombes struck again, rounding the Keeper for 2-0. The floodgates finally opened, and Berks hit another three goals in eight minutes, one from Keegan Nienaber and two from Fox-Harvey, for a 5-0 lead.
Newbury did rally briefly, hitting the post from long range and a couple of dangerous attacks down the right wing, but Keeper Tom Moors kept Newbury at bay.
Halftime arrived with the score of 5-0 to South Berkshire. The second half never lived up to the first, Newbury played a lot better and had much more possession but could only force Moors into a couple of easy saves.
