Founder Alan Howard is a TV producer and has been making television for ITV, Channel Four, Channel Five, MTV, The Discovery Channel, and many others for over 30 years, but by far the most important video he has ever made was of his mum.
Alan said: “Like many people’s parents I was very aware that mum had a biscuit tin under the bed full of photos and I had no idea who these people were. I had worked with genealogists and found it fascinating but realised nothing beats proper spoken history.
“At the time my children were young and had no interest in our family history. I was checking out a new lens and sat down to chat with my mum. A tonne of stuff came out that I had never heard about before like how she met my dad. We lost my mum a couple of years ago and while those photos in the biscuit tin were anonymous, to hear her talking about them really brings her and them to life.”
Prize Draw Terms and Conditions
The Prize Draw is organized by My Wokingham Media Group Ltd in collaboration with The Talking Family Album Company. The prize for this draw is a family history documentary worth £1200, provided by The Talking Family Album Company.By entering the Prize Draw, participants agree to share their entry data with The Talking Family Album Company, who may contact them for marketing purposes related to their services. To enter the Prize Draw, participants must provide valid contact details and answer a simple question through the designated entry form on the My Wokingham website (www.mywokingham.co.uk/prizedraw). By entering, participants consent to My Wokingham Media Group Ltd sharing their entry data with The Talking Family Album Company for marketing purposes. The Prize Draw opens on August 25th 2023 and closes on September 30th 2023. Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered. The Prize Draw will take place on 1 October 2023. The winner will be selected randomly from all eligible entries received. The winner will be notified via the contact details provided during entry. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 7 days of the initial notification, My Wokingham Media Group Ltd reserves the right to select an alternative winner. The winner’s name will be announced in the My Wokingham newspaper, on the My Wokingham website, and on My Wokingham’s official social media channels. The prize is non-transferable and no cash alternative will be offered. My Wokingham Media Group Ltd and The Talking Family Album Company reserve the right to substitute the prize with another prize of similar value in the event the original prize is not available.
