Greggs In Wokingham has closed the doors to its shop in Broad Street and relocated to bigger premises in Peach Street Wokingham.
I spoke with the manager Ruth
We have seating for 29 in this bigger brighter restuarant and are in the middle of staff training until our opening on Saturday. We will be offering an improved hot food service.
A Greggs spokesperson said:
“We’re excited to be welcoming customers into our new and improved shop on Peach Street in Wokingham. New members will be joining the existing team as four new jobs have been created. Returning to usual service, the shop will stock freshly prepared Greggs favourites, including its popular Sausage Roll, Steak Bake and tasty vegan alternatives. The location also comes with an indoor customer seating area for up to 29 customers and a Nuttall Unit so customers can purchase some of Greggs favourite hot items such as Southern Fried Chicken Goujons and Potato Wedges.”
Greggs has over 2000 branches in the UK. The long-standing Greggs fans will remember the olden days before the hotly-debated Vegan Sausage Rolls. Greggs supports the Children’s Cancer Run raising over £30m to fund research into improving recovery rates of children with cancer.
Greggs expansion in the center of Wokingham will no doubt prove competition for the numerous coffee shops and bakeries in the town OR does Greggs appeal to a different audience?
