To stop this 20-day archaeological dig from becoming a 5+ year construction nightmare, please donate what you can to the Parish Council to fund the legal fight for this appeal and ‘save our village’.
Archaeological trial trenching is taking place on the land between Tape Lane and Lodge Road This work will take up to 20 working days and is being undertaken to provide the information needed to know the land is deliverable from an archaeological point of view, ahead of the appeal inquiry into Mactaggart & Mickel’s outline planning application. A Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) for this work has been accepted by the Berkshire Archaeology Officer.

The best way to fight the case is by engaging a barrister and that will mean we need to seek donations to support this. If you wish to donate, please contact cl***@hu*****.uk or call the office number 01189 798914

PLANNING APPEAL REF: APP/X0360/W/22/3309202
If you made a representation to Wokingham Borough Council about the original Planning Application (Ref: 220458), you should by now have received formal notification from them that a Public Planning Inquiry will start at 10.00am. on 31st January 2023, at The Council Offices, Shute End, Wokingham, and is expected to last for 8 days. As many local residents as possible should try and attend the Inquiry even for a short period of time, as this will be a constant visual reminder to The Inspector as to the strength of opinion against this development throughout the whole local community. Whilst the original comments you submitted at the application stage will be automatically forwarded to the Inspector for his consideration, if you have additional matters you wish to bring to his attention these should be e-mailed to him at ro***************@pl******************.uk by 30th November 2022 . To get a greater understanding of the basis of Mactaggart and Mikel’s Appeal you can view their Statement of Case here. NB The Society will be highlighting some of details from that document in the future.
