A large Under New Management sign at the greengrocers market stall Wokingham Market Place could be seen today and two new faces to the market could be seen serving customers. The stall which seems to be one of the most popular had people repeatedly being asked about the prevous owner “Have you taken over from Danny? ” Where’s Danny Gone?
I spoke to Ray and his sister Holly who are now the proud owners of the market stall as they served a stream of customers. Ray wore a jacket with the name “O Neils ” embroidered on the back and this was now the name of their stall and family name

I asked Ray why take over a stall in Wokingham Town Centre?
“We live locally and have a lot of experience in running green grocer stalls and have stalls in Henley, Woodley and Oxford. This stall presents a wonderful opportunity for us to grow it in size and for us to make this market a better place for everyone”

I asked Ray if it was a challenge opening a new business in the middle of a cost of living crisis
No in fact people come to markets to get better value and we have customers who find the supermarkets too expensive, we also offer a place where that uses less plastic packaging. People love independent businesses and we are part of that mix I would call it a place with personality.
Good luck to Ray and Holly in there new market stall
