The Cowshed in Hurst has said a big thank you to the very talented ladies at The Hurst Hookers who spent hours making wonderful knitted figures for the Coronation a few months ago. They raised an incredible £756 for The Cowshed.
A spokesman said: “Thank you Philippa Etheridge for organising the appeal, this sort of community support really does make a huge difference to the people we help.”
The ‘Hurst Hookers’ knitting group got into the coronation spirit, crocheting their favourite royals and installing them on wooden posts across the UK. They are a group of beginner to advanced knitters and crocheters who meet every other Thursday at the Hurst Cricket Club 7.45pm. It was started by Pip Etheridge who brought the group together as a way of keeping up the skill – and socialising at the same time.
