HENLEY Arts Trail spread out to reach Hurst over the Bank Holiday weekend and included the work of four local artists.
Liz Chaderton, who organised the Hurst contingent said: “The event is Henley in name but it has branched out to include so many more areas. There are so many artists and creative folk it is lovely to be able to join together and connect.”
Liz, a watercolorist, used to display her work in Henley, before deciding to work closer to home and now has a garden studio.
During the trail, four artists displayed at the venue of oil painter Joe De Mounteney including sculptor Dick Budden and print maker Christina Taylor-Smith. Liz added: “It was a lovely space and the work complimented each other, being different but standing nicely alongside each other.”
People were invited to browse the works but if any took their fancy, they could also purchase pieces and enjoy them forever. When we spoke Liz was just on her way to check that two items purchase during the weekend would fit in their allocated spaces.
As a professional artist, Liz also teaches and runs workshops and has her fifth book, entitled Painting Portraits in Watercolour due out later this year.

- The Henley Arts Trail was the brainchild Kirsten Jones, Kate Findlay and Judith Fletcher when they got together back in 2006 with the aim of creating a platform to showcase the creative work of local artists in the Henley area. With the support of other artists and sponsors over the years, the trail has become something that visitors now look forward to, either to view the latest work of their favourite artists or to see who is new on the trail. The artists are usually on hand to welcome guests and show their work. Some artists do demonstrations or workshops for visitors who may want to have a go themselves and many venues offer refreshments.
