Excavation works continue next week at California Crossroads as the team looks to complete the stretch between Londis Red Oak Store and the California Ratepayers Hall. This is in preparation for the new paving that will be laid. The team will also be working on digging out the new kerb lines along this part of the road.
With excavation works taking place next week between Londis Red Oak Store and the California Ratepayers Hall, access to parking outside Londis Red Oak Store and Bob’s Fish and Chip Shop will need to switch over.
Before the start of the project, the council reworked plans for car park access after receiving feedback from local businesses and residents at their drop-in sessions.
They have ensured the car park remains accessible throughout the project and from Tuesday (7th May) access to the car park will be via Nine Mile Ride.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout and signage in relation to this car park will be switched to accommodate the new access arrangements.
Local business owners have been made aware and the council asks you to continue to support your local businesses throughout this project.
This week saw the local elections take place with signage erected and the team on hand from 6am to 10pm yesterday (Thursday 2nd May) to assist those making their way to the polling stations to vote via the diversion routes.
The installation of new block paving has progressed this week and the project team has been receiving very positive feedback as the footways begin to take shape.
The team has completed the paving on both side of the road along the stretch of Nine Mile Ride from Cresswells Garage to Nine Mile Ride Dental Practice.
They have also completed the paving on one side of the road along Finchampstead Road between the crossroads and the California Ratepayers Hall.
