Wokingham Fire Crews Are Highly Trained
All firefighters from Wokingham fire station are first aid trained along with every other firefighter across Berkshire. In 2015 firefighters began receiving training from the South Central Ambulance Service. Fire engines carry specialist equipment to help them provide a ‘first response’ in serious medical emergencies.
In 2021-22, there were 7,300 emergency incidents within Berkshire, which is a return to the level of incidents seen before
the pandemic. While the number of Primary Fires has remained relatively steady since 2019/20, we have seen a 77% increase in Primary Fires Industrial and Commercial buildings in 2021-22, which is consistent with businesses reopening as COVID-19 restrictions eased.
