My Wokingham would like to congratulate the tremendous effort put in by the Berkshire biking community who donated 1,826 Easter eggs to charities managed by Loddon Vale Rotary Club.
In particular a huge thanks to Thames Vale Vultures who organised the event which culminated in 452 bikes taking part in the run, an amazing achievement.
Good Friday saw riders from all across the South of England converge at Stadium Way in Tilehurst at 11.30am and depart at 12.30pm riding through Reading ending up at The Abbey Rugby Club in Emmer Green where the Easter eggs were donated. The Rotary Club and Southcote Children Centre began the world to distribute them across Berkshire.
The ride was marshalled with over 400 bikes taking part and every sort of bike was present including scooters, trikes and quad bikes. Last year the Berkshire Egg Run saw 1,483 eggs donated to charity and it looks like it’s set to continue each year. You can follow the Facebook page that’s set up for the event here.
