The Wokingham and Bracknell Local Group of The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) is bringing their popular introductory course on birdwatching back to Dinton Pastures next month.
The course is designed for people who are new to the hobby and want to get started, but is also suitable for those who want to improve their birdwatching skills.
There are a total of four sessions in this course. Two of them will be held at Dinton where you will have a chance to identify all the birds you see or hear, including the first spring migrants arriving for the season.
Participants of all ages are welcome. Information on dates and cost is available on the Local Group’s website. All proceeds go to the RSPB.
The course will be from 7pm to 9pm on the evenings of Wednesday 13th and 20th March, at St Paul’s Church Parish Rooms in Wokingham, and outside at Dinton Pastures Country Park from 9am to 12 noon on the Saturdays of 16th and 23rd March.
The course will cover bird identification, birdsong and calls, migration, and what to see through the year, as well as choosing binoculars, which field guides to use, and birdwatching information. There will be plenty of opportunity for dealing with any particular questions you may have.
At the outdoor sessions at Dinton Pastures Country Park the group will try to identify all the birds you see or hear, including the first spring migrants which will be just arriving.
The cost will be £24 for the four sessions, or £7 per session if you cannot make all the sessions. The course is half price to under 18’s. Payment needs to be made before the course starts and all proceeds go to the RSPB.
