Recently 10 members of the Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh attended the 19th International Inner Wheel Convention held in Manchester.
The Convention is an international AGM which happens every three years somewhere in the world but as the Inner Wheel organisation began in the UK in 1924, this is the centenary year so the four-day convention was appropriately held in the UK.
Discussions around business were coupled with evening entertainment and 2,500 ladies from over 50
countries were there for the gala dinner where most guests dressed up in 1920’s clothes and danced
the night away.
Inner Wheel is now one of the largest organisations for women with over 100,000 members in more than 103 countries, with membership open to all women since April 2012.
The Inner Wheel Club of Reading Maiden Erlegh meets at Sonning Golf Club on the third Thursday evening of every month and welcomes new members to join in the fun, take part in activities, raise funds for charity and support the local community.
