Dozens of residents gathered for the annual Hurst Christmas light switch-on.
The event saw locals meet up at the recreation ground opposite the village pond for the official switch-on, officiated by the Rev. Graham Theobald.
There were refreshments on hand including mulled wine and mince pies, as well as goodie bags donated by local business Chocoholics. Music was provided by the Waltham St. Lawrence Silver Band.
The event followed on from the village’s Christmas fayre the day before which took place at St. Nicholas Church, with special guest Father Christmas on hand to meet the youngest members of the community.
Attractions including a raffle and silent auction, gift stalls and games, as well as children’s craft activities and live entertainment.
