The Bull Inn, located on Swallowfield Road, Aborfield Cross, RG2 9QD is causing quite a stir with its new management and exciting makeover. Promising to be a haven for food, drink, and entertainment, the revamped establishment is set to become a hotspot for the local community.
Eager to witness the changes firsthand, I recently paid a visit to the pub and had the opportunity to speak with the enthusiastic new owners and the general manager. Upon arrival, it was evident that the Bull Inn was undergoing a complete transformation. The garden area, in particular, caught my attention, featuring an impressive cocktail bar, a designated space for a pizza oven, and an outdoor setting complete with a stage for live entertainment. Furthermore, plans are underway to introduce climbing frames and table tennis areas, promising endless fun for visitors of all ages.

Inside, the restaurant area was being developed to cater to a wide variety of tastes with a diverse menu, which can be found in the upcoming July edition of My Wokingham newspaper. Meanwhile, the new bar area is set to accommodate patrons seeking a refreshing beverage or those accompanied by their four-legged companions.

I had the pleasure of conversing with Alicya and Tom Jackson, the new owners, as well as Rob Dunn, the experienced general manager, to gain insight into their vision for the Bull Inn.
“We are striving to create a welcoming community pub that caters to a wide range of ages,” shared Alicya and Tom.
No strangers to the hospitality industry, Alicya and Tom took over the café at California Country Park eight years ago, successfully transforming it into a bustling hub of activity. The café now serves as a beloved destination for dog walkers, exhausted park runners, and visitors to the picturesque Californian Park Lake.
Drawing from his recent triumph in revitalizing the Pheasant Pub in Winnersh, Rob Dunn brings his expertise from a vibrant nightclub background to the Bull Inn. Equipped with impressive mixology skills honed during his tenure in London and Camberley, Rob is set to infuse the establishment with his unique flair. As part of the fresh start, the Bull Inn’s logo and pub sign will be revamped to reflect the exciting changes taking place.
In a show of support for the local community, the Bull Inn Arborfield has recently sponsored the shirts for the Acers, a youth football team in the area.
With its dynamic transformation, the Bull Inn is poised to become a central gathering place, fostering a sense of belonging for all. The anticipation surrounding its grand reopening is palpable, and locals are eagerly awaiting the chance to experience the exciting new chapter in Arborfield’s social scene.
