Wokingham Town centre sees another addition to its shops at 31 Peach Street, Wokingham with the opening of the Egg Free Cake Box. I spoke to the franchise owners and learned more about why they selected Wokingham to launch their business.
The Eggfree Cake Box opened its first store in the heart of East London in 2008. Its mission was to provide the UK market with a new concept; fresh cream celebration cakes made without using eggs and to create an on-demand service. By eliminating eggs, without compromising on taste and texture, Egg Free Cake Box cakes were an instant success and the brand now has stores up and down the country
Wokingham’s Egg-Free Cake Box
I visited the shop today and spoke to the owner’s husband and wife team Kishor and Kavita Goyani. Both are from Bracknell I asked them why they decided to set up shop in Wokingham.
Kishor said:
Wokingham came out better value for money than our home town Bracknell. We can have a shop right in the heart of Wokingham for a much better deal. The town is busy and there is no one doing what we do with our fresh cream egg-free cakes
The new team at the shop were under training, I could see a stream of customers coming into the store. I spoke to one such client Matt Price from Wokingham and asked what he thought about the new shop.

We were exicted about seeing the cake store opening and had been watching for when it opened. It makes a good addition to the town and I will definitely be back!
The owners said:
The cakes are so light and fluffy and made to a high-end recipe that we still use today. Our commitment to quality and value means that you will receive a fantastic, delicious product, every time. ECB began to increase in popularity and opened its first franchise a year later and has never looked back.”
The Egg Free Cake Box has been approved by The Vegetarian Society of the United Kingdom (https://www.vegsoc.org/). The organisation regularly check our ingredients and inspects the premises to ensure our products are suitable for vegetarians and license us to use the green “V” signage displayed in the shops.
I will be back to get a nice strawberry and cream cake I saw winking at me!
