Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon Event
In Bond Square, Bracknell Forest Council and The Lexicon hosted a significant event featuring speeches from the Mayor of Bracknell Forest and James Sutherland MP. Local school pupils recited commemorative war poems they had written as part of a competition run by local schools, adding a personal touch to the occasion.
Woodley Carnival and Flower Show
As part of the Woodley Carnival, the Woodley Flower Club staged a remarkable flower show at the Oakwood Centre. The displays, themed around D-Day, showcased the community’s creativity and dedication, with many hours of hard work evident in the beautiful arrangements. Additionally, the carnival itself was a grand celebration, touted as Woodley’s party of the year.
Crowthorne Parish Council’s Flag Raising
Councillors and staff of Crowthorne Parish Council, along with Thames Valley Police and the Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, came together to raise the D-Day 80 flag. This ceremony honored 80 years since the start of the Allied campaign to liberate Europe.
Age Concern Twyford Celebrations
