It’s a Bank Holiday weekend and once again there is bad weather.
The Met Office issued a yellow warning with storm Nelson hitting inland and along coastal routes right across the UK this Easter Bank Holiday break. The high winds have already brought trees down plus power lines, and there is widespread flooding particularly along the River Loddon where the river has burst its banks leaving a trail behind. Wind speeds have been recorded with gusts up to 70mph.
At St.Paul’s Church is Wokingham, the high water table and sodden ground has meant graves have become submerged.
In some areas the weather has been causing widespread disruption and travel delays. It is advised to take caution and stay indoors if possible during the storm, and to avoid unnecessary travel. Emergency services are on high alert and are working tirelessly to respond to any incidents that may occur.
